Key Takeaway: The growing importance of internal video content for nonprofit staff, volunteers, and stakeholder engagement.
Every year, the Boys & Girls Club of Martin County (BGCMC) holds its signature fundraising gala, a night dedicated to honoring their mission and raising critical funds to support youth programs. But for donors and supporters in the room, numbers only go so far. What really makes an impact? Stories.
That’s where our partnership began.
Over the course of several years, Two Parrot Productions has worked hand-in-hand with the BGCMC team to produce six high-quality videos for gala events, social media, and internal communications. Our work has included everything from short social media cuts to full-length narrative films that celebrate the past, present, and future of the organization.
A Gala Worthy of the Mission

BGCMC serves young people who need it most, mentoring them, feeding them, empowering them with skills and love. When it came time to show that impact at their gala, they needed more than just facts and figures. They needed a way to make the work felt.
Our suggestion? Structure the storytelling in three parts:
- The Past – A five-minute short documentary honoring the club’s founding, legacy, and the leaders who laid the foundation
- The Present – A snapshot of day-to-day life at BGCMC locations across Martin County, told through the voices of staff and members
- The Future – A vision piece highlighting aspirations, upcoming programs, and why continued support is critical
Each of these videos was also cut into a 60-second version for social media and promotional purposes.
“At events like this, the videos are more than just content, they become the heartbeat of the evening. People laugh. People cry. And most importantly, people give.”
— Dr. Jessica Kizorek
Internal Unity Through Storytelling

While the external focus of the gala is fundraising, the videos also served an equally important internal purpose. Staff across different clubs don’t always get to see what’s happening elsewhere, especially in a county-wide organization.
These videos helped change that.
By showing interviews and footage from different club locations, the videos created a sense of cohesion and camaraderie. Staff members saw themselves, and each other, reflected on screen. It reinforced a shared mission and cultivated pride across teams.
“It’s easy to forget how powerful it can be for your own team to feel seen and celebrated. That internal morale boost was one of the most rewarding outcomes of this project.”
— Dr. Jessica Kizorek
Strong Client Relationship, Stronger Results

Our relationship with BGCMC runs deep. We’ve produced content for four different events over the years. We’ve interviewed more than 30 stakeholders, from staff and board members to volunteers and youth participants.
One of the most memorable aspects of these projects was seeing the finished videos play on the big screen at the gala. After months of hard work, there’s nothing like witnessing real-time audience reaction: tears, applause, and heartfelt conversation.
“Jessica and the crew had a wonderful rapport with our staff, members, volunteers, and partners. They brought out the best in everyone.”
— Jennifer Durant, Director of Resource Development, BGCMC
