Resources: Funding For Nonprofit Videos

THREE WAYS TO WORK WITH OUR TEAM

HOW BUDGETS ARE OFTEN FUNDED

SECRETS TO WINNING OUR EOYM FREE VIDEO GRANT

Two Parrot Productions has been working with nonprofits, foundations and global NGOs for over 20 years. We have developed several ways to work with clients, sometimes on a sliding scale given the tight budgets of many nonprofit productions. There are three ways to work with our team at Two Parrot (Pro bono, Matching, and at Full-price)>>>

1) Pro Bono Services:

Once a year (May-July) we open a formal application process for nonprofits to apply for free video production services. This grant is facilitated by Eyes On Your Mission, a Miami 501(c)(3) organization, and the projects are produced by Two Parrot Productions team. The grantee wins one free day of video production anywhere in the world, along with a highly-produced 3-5 minute communications video to help the nonprofit get more eyes on their mission. Projects produced free of charge are valued at $20,000 (local), $25,000 (national), and $30,000 (international)

Watch video below to understand more about how we evaluate the annual application process.
Visit Eyes On your Mission Video Grants page for additional resources.

2) Matching Grant:

We know from experience that approximately 5-10% of EOYM video grant applicants who don’t win the pro bono award will want to find a way to produce their project  with a small budget after the fact. For many nonprofits, the act of applying for the grant is itself quite helpful in articulating the organizational vision for a fundraising video. For applicants of the EOYM grant ONLY, we offer “matching grants” throughout the summer (July-October) after we’ve announced the winners of EOYM. Typically after our free resources run out for the year, we can negotiate discounted services with the same Two Parrot team to charge 50% of their normal rate. In the past we’ve produced “matching grant” projects for as little as $7,500 for small local projects, and up to $119,000 for large complex international projects. Inquire with jessica @ twoparrot.com.

3) We’ve seen nonprofits fund their full-price video productions with:

Marketing Budget
Events Budget
Percentage of programmatic grant earmarked for ”impact evaluation”
Asking a single donor to cover all charges
Asking a donor to match our “matching grant”
Applying for grant
Finding a corporate “sponsor” or “advertiser”
Crowdfunding
