TP Matching Grants

Video Production (Grants) and (Matching Grants): Two Parrot Productions has been donating services to  nonprofits, charities, causes, and foundations since its inception in 2001. It’s the Kizorek family tradition of philanthropy to donate our services in some circumstances, and in others, work for a fraction of our normal rates. We have clients that pay full prices for our video production services, and in turn we’re able to take on passion projects that would never be produced without our subsidization.

There are three ways to work with us:
(1) Pay full price for production services (2) Apply for the Eyes On Your Mission FREE Video Grant > Applications accepted annually March 1st – May 1st OR (3) Apply for a Two Parrot Matching Grant > Year-round.

Here’s WHY and HOW we’ve structured each program…
Since 2001 Two Parrot Productions has built a network of over 50 freelance creatives ranging from writers to videographers to editors. Due to strong relationships with vendors willing to donate services to nonprofits, charities and foundations, each year we award between 1-5 nonprofits with PRO BONO video production services through our Eyes On Your Mission Free Video Grant using our trusted network. This covers a single-day shoot, photos, 3-5 minute video, social media posts, and promotion to our network. Estimated value of each donated package is $15,000 + travel (domestic USA) and $25,000 + travel (international). However, our annual application window is only open March 1st – May 1st (NOW CLOSED) >

Throughout the rest of the year, Two Parrot offers MATCHING GRANTS. Why? After maxing out our pro bono resources, we have certain vendors who will work for a portion of their normal rate. In the past we’ve been able to co-fund productions for nonprofits who didn’t have the full budget we normally charge without any subsidization. Our most frequent scope of work includes a single-day shoot, photos, 3-5 minute video, social media posts, and promotion to our network. For this package, nonprofits are generally required to commit $5,000 – $10,000 (plus travel for 1-2 crew) towards a matching grant project based on timing, location, and scope. Some matching grants are bigger: On one client project, our original proposal was for $146,000, with a $27,000 matching grant, bringing the total cost to $119,000. Matching grants are provided year-round on a rolling basis, but our resources fluctuate throughout the year so we are picky about the projects we take on in this manner. Submit requests directly to jessica @ twoparrot . com.

Since Two Parrot Staff has donated over 3 million frequent flyer miles and $1 million worth of services to nonprofits, creating hundreds of films domestically and in remote third-world countries like Congo, Rwanda, Burma, Cuba, Jordan, Cameroon, Cambodia, Moldova, Romania, Indonesia, Ghana, Tanzania, Nepal, Ethiopia, Liberia, Pakistan, Thailand, and Guatemala.

There are no formal deadlines for our matching grants, however as stated above the Eyes On Your Mission grant is open only March 1st – May 1st (NOW CLOSED). Applications for matching grants are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year. As Jessica Kizorek is on the Board of Directors of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women (Miami Chapter), we have a vested interest in supporting organizations aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

(2020 APPLICATION WINDOW: Postponed due to the coronavirus)
We regret to inform our community that Eyes On Your Mission has postponed its annual free video production grant until early 2021 due to all the uncertainty related to the coronavirus and what we’ll be able to film in person (like we normally do for this grant). We are redirecting our nonprofit’s resources towards our new Filmmaking For Good platform, educational coursework that can be done with students 100% virtually. If you need a powerful online curriculum for your students, learn more about our online training intensive that empowers educators to teach their students to produce social justice videos and user-friendly digital content.

FOR NONPROFITS WITH SMALL BUDGETS: Consider a matching grant through our sister company, Two Parrot Productions, which has been donating video production services to nonprofits, charities, causes, and foundations since its inception in 2001.

Though currently closed for applications, the annual Eyes On Your Mission Free Video Grant provides nonprofits with a free video production and visual storytelling promotional package including; communications strategy, videos, still photos, and social media content.
Grants have been awarded to selected nonprofits that exhibit innovation, creativity, and future-thinking. The grant is international, multi-lingual, and considers a diverse range of causes and organizations. We are headquartered in Miami and Chicago, however, any NGO globally is eligible and invited to apply. We encourage previous applicants to apply again with fresh, updated ideas.
